Beautiful drawing
I find a vast number of good ways to interpret it
But I will give you a "bad" one.. just so your vision expands :
A red tone will mostly make you feel warmth and love.
But imagine a world, our world where pollution is everywhere.
Your water is then red as blood because it is killing animals that drink it.
Add up a water vortex where nothing can escape from it, a black hole if you may.
A beautiful butterfly is trapped in this poisonous water, a mass murderer.
The black background could suggest an apocalyptic theme where all forms of life are ending.
Is it the destiny of our planet where all creatures will disappear ?
Or the birth of new species that are purified in those mystical waters ?
All in all, it's a beautiful philosophical piece even if it wasn't intended to be one.
